Multislotting

By Sébastien FELIX
What is multislotting?...Basically multislotting is just a state of mind, where you don't dumbly solve the F2L pairs  but try to do the smartest solve you can. It is based on the fact that there are many different ways to insert a prepared pair, and every of these different ways affect pieces differently. Working on multislotting will allow you to influence your next pair when pairing one. Sometimes cases are so fair that you can prepare your next pair while inserting one. And happily those cases happen very often when you work for it.In fact the Absolute Mind to adopt is to always try to influence your next step in order to force skips using Multislotting and F2LL for F2L AND to avoid pauses between steps using R-OLL or slowing down at the end of the alg in order to have a fast fluent and short F2L and a fast and fluent LL.

The mind you should adopt to multislot during your F2L is :
1 - Cross + Influence 1st pair
2 - Solve 1st pair + Influence 2nd pair
3 - Solve 2nd pair + Influence 3rd pair
4 - Solve 3rd pair + Influence 4th pair
5- Solve 4th pair (+ eventually influence LL with LL edges control or F2LL if edges are oriented)

Of course ALWAYS prepare the next pair while solving one is not really possible, but you can always skip unfair cases (unfair case are in fact the cases YOU don't like), it allows you to always have a 25-32 moves F2L solve with easy fingertricks. A very important thing is to try to think the less you can, I don't advice to learn anything, but just see how pieces are moving using different sequences to solve F2L pairs and try to do the less moves you can.

I present here the 1st tutorial to help you to correctly learn how to use multislotting. I divided it in 3 main chapters of increasing difficulty, the first 2 chapters are the basic things you have to know before including multislotting in your solves.
There is also an example chapter with detailled and commented solves. The last chapter will be the F2L database but it's still under construction.

I : Learn to choose between R U' R' and R U2 R' insertions
II : Learn how to add L moves before R U R'
Exercices : Learn how to insert a pair whitout breaking an already prepared one
III : Extra cases
Exercices : Learn how to skip bad cases

IV : Database
Here are 5 sets of 30 cases which needs to be completed, the goal is to find the best sequence to end the F2L with logical moves. Though I've send each file to an experimented cuber, all suggestions are welcome.
